Hi everyone! I have decided to create a post with one of my drafts for my liner notes for my new song! Please let me know how you like it
“Reconozco” is the sound of me learning how to believe in love.
This was the first song I ever wrote and produced entirely on my own, and that independence was powerful. Every chord, lyric, and production choice was mine. Through that process, I found my voice I had been too scared to fully express before. Building the song from scratch helped me shape my tone, lyricism, and emotional depth.
At the heart, Reconozco is about emotional resistance. It’s about what happens when someone see’s you for who you are and not what you are ‘worth’ to them. Not for your body, who you could be, this piece is about who you really are at face value.
When I first met my boyfriend, I wasn’t ready to receive that kind of love. I was detached, uninterested, numbing myself with distractions. But over time, he made it clear: he wasn’t going anywhere. And that scared me more than I expected. This song captures that tension, between self-protection and acceptance, between suspicion and hope. In Spanish and English, it weaves between memories and emotion, expressing both the beauty and discomfort of being deeply seen.
But Reconozco is more than just my story. It’s a message to anyone who has ever felt unworthy of love, who’s ever wondered if they’re too broken, too late, or not enough. I want you to know: love is in the cards for you. Real, grounding, soulful love. Even if you don’t believe it right now.
This song is proof that opening up is scary, but it can also be everything.
